Move That Fence

when all else fails, picard shows you how it's done

Apparently yesterday a girl decided that instead of me working on the install for what I assume to be her parents’ computer that she was going to log on to Facebook and play on Farmville and such while the shared screen session was going. I wanted to interrupt it somehow, or type something, but in the end I decided that between me being on the phone and screen with another customer, it being 5:30, and the fact this was amusing me greatly, I let her stay on it. I contemplated messaging her through Bomgar’s chat to ask her to move her fences in Farmville a little to the right, but I figured that’d be a little creepy to start random messaging a kid. Oh morals!

I bought Ashlynn her Christmas present this week, an HTC Hero to go on her new employee plan she picked up from a friend of hers. I took her old HTC Mogul (old, but actually refurb new since she got them to give it to her because the old one she had before was broke) and changed my service to it. I spent last night flashing a new bootloader and latest Sprint radio/rom and WinMo 6.1 on it, and set up a bunch of shit before I got tired and went to bed. Today being slow at work I used the time to continue setting stuff up on it. Got Google Sync to sync my contacts, calendar, and email through MS ActiveSync and got apps for FB, Twitter, and AIM on it. Still yet to work in ringtones and various other tweaks as well as work on email since I will probably IMAP it all between my phone, Google, and my email clients at home and work.

As for my impressions of WinMo, it was a little clunky to start with, being my first real smartphone and all. I like the interface for the most part, and I imagine 6.5 does nicer especially on the Touch Pro and Pro2, but for what it’s worth, it’s not bad. I would like to see my Today screen be a little more customizable, and it probably is, I just don’t know how to do it. The icons and indicators are a little weird, haven’t found a battery indicator on the screen yet, the service icons on the top are kinda ambiguous, but running multiple programs at once and being able to listen to music with those LG Bluetooth headphones I got is pretty cool.

I’d try to type more but my eyes are shutting down here, I believe sleep is in order somehow. *Yawn*
