In better news, thanks to the fact we have been busy in recent weeks the 701st Dark Room Brigade “Commander Orange Shirt” has alluded to a possible new hire for Support, which means “Hooray more help” and “Hooray not the probie anymore!” I feel as if I should take on the task of training the new person proper as the mantra of this company is “RTFM? Fuck that, hit the ground running or run home crying!” something which has backfired with supporting our customers.

We move to our new apartment in a little under two weeks and having seen the place now it looks pretty decent. It’s Vernon Gardens, up the street from where we live not even a half-mile up and the same place one of my co-workers lives. Moving Day is April 29th for pretty much everything, getting a U-Haul to move all of the furniture and everything else and moving it over then, Friday through Sunday will be spent cleaning up the old apartment to turn over and unpacking and setting everything up. Anyone is welcome to join and we’ll probably throw in some food and drink for anyone who will be there, let me know at delta@zerosubspace.com or call my Google Voice # at 860-375-0277, moving will start around mid-morning, probably 11-12-ish. Furniture will be most of the draw really, surprisingly we don’t have as many boxes as I thought we would, though there will be quite a few.

Lastly once the move is complete and I can begin pocketing paychecks again, I’m looking to grab a MSI Wind U160 netbook, Newegg has them for 320 and I’ve heard good things about the Winds. Basically I want to use it for hanging around the apartment, work, and anywhere else and probably in a year or so, spring for a fully loaded laptop. I don’t do much mobile computing as I once did before so a netbook should be perfect for light use and work as I use my laptop at work sort of as a third screen for my work phone HUD and ACD queue display, along with our time clock program and occasionally to write up install sheets off our Word template. It works pretty well until they fix my computer or get me new one, mine works now but the GPU on it is either installed incorrectly or is bottlenecking one way or the other, every time Bomgar is up, the rest of the machine slows to a crawl graphically. Annoying as hell.
